1322 (Newton Abbot) Squadron

Air Training Corps

Farewell Graham, Well Done Mike

On the 3 June, 1322 Squadron Newton Abbot and Teignmouth said farewell to their squadron chaplain and WO Vooght was presented with his Air Cadet Forces medal.

Padre Graham Milford is regretfully leaving the squadron to move up country to take on the challenge of a new parish, however, he still intends to work with the ATC, and has already enquired into visiting a new squadron. Graham has been the squadron’s chaplain for just over 5 years, and has recently had a new addition to the family. He will be sorely missed, and we wish him all the best for the future.  The CO presented Graham with a Squadron shield.

Our own Wing Commander attended the evening and presented WO Mike Vooght (ATC) his Cadet Forces Medal for all his work he has done for the air cadets over the years.
Mike was surprised the CO had arranged his family to be in attendance and just for once he did not cook on the BBQ as he expected.
The Wing Commander also made various presentations including D of E bronze certificate, classifications badges, BTEC certificates, Nijmegen Awards, Ten Tors Certs,  New CV Certificate, Communication Badge Certificates, First Aid Awards, Instructor Cadet certificates sports award. THE Certificate for being selected as the best squadron in the Wing 2008.

THE Certificate for being selected as the best squadron in Devon & Somerset Wing 2008.
Is it Graham's last enrolment at 1322?
Fg Off Andy Oliver gets his scroll!!!!!!!
Alongside the formal presentation in 1322 style of respect and fun we held a BBQ and a social evening.

During the evening a small raffle was held, to which surprisingly the Wing Commander didn’t win anything! Now there’s got to be something wrong there hasn’t there!

It has been a tradition for many years with 1322 squadron, that when a member leaves, on final parade it is customary to get them wet , years ago it started as a cup of water now its several buckets,  So Graham got soaked well he did agree, Did he have a choice?
