"On commissioning RAF VR(T) Officers will be promulgated in the
London Gazette, in the rank of Pilot Officer, but will be known
within the Corps as Officer Cadets RAF VR(T); they will be
considered to be under training and will wear white shoulder
tabs, without Pilot Officer braid, to signify this.
Notwithstanding this, they are RAF VR(T) Officers and are to be
paid the normal compliments to which their commission entitles
them

Cadets are deemed to be Instructor
Cadets when they are aged 18 or over and are recognised by the wearing
ranks slides that say "Instructor Cadet" if not available White
Tabs are worn with normal Rank Slides.
Cadets become Instructor Cadets when they reach their
18th birthday and must attend the obligatory Instructor Cadet Course-providing
they have met certain criteria as set by HQAC and
approved by the WCO
Cadet Membership ceases at the age of
20
When a Cadet membership lapses we
hope they remain part of the team as a member of Staff - unless they
join the Armed Forces.
We do have several Ex-Cadets now Regular Service
Personnel who visit the Squadron - all Ex-Cadets are welcome to visit.
Some Service personnel join or rejoin
the Corps when they leave full time military service.

Cadets during their membership
progress from one Classification to another depending on their academic
achievements on ATC related subjects.
A new cadet is now classed as a Junior Cadet until
they are enrolled when they automatically become a
Second Class Cadet.
Cadets then have the opportunity to progress through
the Cadet Classifications Starting at First Class, Leading Cadet, Senior
Cadet and finally Staff Cadet.
This List of Names is very
hard to keep up to date it will only be updated a few times a
year - apologies for delays and errors.
