Report by Cpl
Richard Nott on one of the RAFA Collection days follows-
Another weekend and another event which
cadets from 1322 Newton Abbot Sqn took part in.
On Saturday 26th
August and Sunday 27th August 2006 three cadets aided Mr. Mick Florey, a
representative from the Teignmouth RAFA (Royal Air Force Association) Branch
held
a collection at Fermoys garden centre, Newton Abbot.
Over the two days Cpl Joshua Chambers
who is the Sqn representative for the RAFA and other cadets took part in the
event. The cadets in attendance helped Mr. Florey collect money for the Royal
Air Force Association. In addition to collecting money, they raised awareness of
the RAFA and ATC (Air Training Corps) and ran the RAFA stand. Over the two days
approximately £350 was raised which was a very good amount.
Mr. Florey had nothing but praise for
the cadets and said, ‘The cadets were a great help because with them in uniform,
the interest was increased. They were a credit to the squadron because they
looked so smart and helped us to raise approximately £350.’
Cpl Josh Chambers said, ‘I’m very
grateful to those who turned up and I hope that we can do as well in forthcoming
collections.’
The cadets at 1322 Sqn will also be
supporting the RAFA at the forthcoming events,
Tesco -1 September
Trago Mills - 9-10th

Jacks patch - 12th September,
Newton Abbot - 16th September
and,

1322 will also be attending the
