Squadron Awards 2005

The Squadron's Awards were presented on ATC Sunday 6 February 2005. This year the award ceremony took place at The Queens Hotel Newton Abbot.

The Squadron was honored that the Mayor of Newton Abbot Cllr. Reg Wills & the Squadron's Wing Staff officer Sqn. Ldr. Bill Vinnicombe attended - joining Squadron members, family and friends in celebrating the Squadrons & individual achievements during the last twelve months.

The parents of the late fun loving Cadet Vicky Tucker who tragically died from meningitis have kindly donated the Vicky Memorial Trophy.

NCO's and Cadets are asked to nominate a fellow cadet or NCO who has given them the most fun & enjoyment during the year.

Awarded to the NCO or Cadet who receives the highest number of nominations from fellow cadets during the Presentation Evening.

Mr Greening, then thanked the Squadron members for giving support to the family  - during Daniel's recovery,  after the air crash that occurred earlier in the year when Daniel was intending to do a Parachute Jump for charity.

The first Cadet of the Month award was made to Cadet Oliver Deavin jan05com.jpg (562499 bytes) for January 2005 as selected by 1322 NCO's.
Sqn Ldr Bill Vinnicombe revealed that 1322 had been selected as the Best Squadron In The Wing to  represent the Wing for the Lees Trophy.

Flt Lt Rick Webb reminded Cadets & Staff the Squadron belonged to them, "The more you Put in the More you get out" - How we do is up to all of us - the real support given by The Civilian Committee, Friends Of 1322, Parents and others all are a factors. 

The Mayor wearing His Honorary President Chain chain.jpg (311709 bytes) - made a speech thanking the Mayors Cadet Corporal Anthea Webbmayorcdt.jpg (83039 bytes) and the Squadron for supporting town. He also mentioned how successful The Wing Parade was in Newton Abbot on Saturday 1st May 2004, he looks forward to the continued partnership between the Town and the Squadron.
