Summer Camp

RAF Shawbury

29 July - 5 August 2000

Cadets from 1322 had the opportunity to attend RAF Shawbury.
Nine Cadets and three members of staff from the Squadron had a great time.

Cadets - Female -Caroline Bubb and Emily Bowers.
Cadets - Male - Terry Hodgson, Daniel King and Lee Murphy.   
The camp offered many activities for the Cadets. 
Cadets visited various sections on the base and learnt more about life in the RAF. Sections visited include the Fire Section, Air Traffic Control, 660 Sqn., 60(R) Sqn., 705 Sqn., Central Flying School and many more.
During the week all cadets flew in a Helicopter and the fixed wing Bulldog.
Cadets took part in an exercise involving sleeping under the stars.
Cadets shot using 0.22" target rifles and those suitable trained fired the L98 cadet target rifle.
We Visited the Aircraft Museum at RAF Cosford where many historic aircraft are well looked after.
Orienteering at a National Sporting Centre.
Sport at RAF Shawbury's Sports Hanger using the excellent facilities available.
Visit to historic Shrewsbury.
Ten Pin Bowling and Lazerquest at Shrewsbury.
